Background
This domain previously hosted a directory of outpatient clinics affiliated with Mercy Iowa City Hospital. That hospital, which had served the Iowa City community since 1873, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2023 and was subsequently acquired by the University of Iowa Health Care system. The transition was completed on January 31, 2024, at which point Mercy Iowa City became UI Health Care Medical Center Downtown.
The former Mercy Iowa City clinic locations — including family medicine practices in Iowa City, Coralville, Kalona, Muscatine, Solon, Tipton, West Liberty, West Branch, and North English, as well as internal medicine, general surgery, and other specialty services — now operate under University of Iowa Health Care.
